Outfits

Hey guys sorry it's been so long since my last post, I don't have that much time for blogging anymore... :(
Since today I have a snow day before I finish writing my English essay (4 pages, due tom ughhhhh) I'm going to post a few outfits that I'm putting together that I hope you will like! :)
-M.

Outfit #1:
(just click on the pictures to be taken to the place where you can buy it)

This outfit has some Gothic influences and is very trendy and sleek. This would be paired well with a black tank top, black combat boots, silver eyeliner and some white or metal jewelry.

Outfit 2:

This outfit has a bit of a whimsical feel to it and is inspired by old movie stars. While casual and simple, it is beautiful. This would be paired well with dangly silver earrings.

Top Essentials for the middle of Winter

You know that feeling when you just pulled an all nighter studying or doing homework in the middle of winter and you have those awful dark circles under your eyes, the breakout, the cloudy head, the cracked skin? Well here are my top beauty products and more for some tips to help you keep healthy all winter long! :)

xoxo,
Meira.

e.l.f. Mineral Eye Brightener- I love this product and use it daily to help cover the circles under my eyes. It lessens the appearance of the dark circles underneath my eyes.

e.l.f. Body Glow- Dabbing a little of this powder on your cheeks is great for giving them a nice, healthy, summer glow that you (or at least, me) want in the middle of winter.

e.l.f. Cuticle Pen- Works very well for repairing your cuticles.

Eucerin Lotion- This repairs dry, cracked, and raw skin immensely. Works really well in the middle of winter.

e.l.f. Zit Zapper- Great for clearing up your minor acne.

Cetaphil Gentle Skin Cleanser- Great for removing makeup on the face and cleansing your skin gently.

Mint Tea- Drinking some decaf mint tea in the mornings is great for clearing your sinuses in the morning. I love tea in general, and drinking a cup a day is like they say with apples, one a day keeps the doctor away!

Don't you love this dress? (for lack of better blog title)

Don't you love this dress? Isn't it so pretty? However the price tag, not so much!!!
Click here to see it! I especially love the peter pan collar on this dress, and the vintage feel of this dress. Also the material is perfect for the coming fall and winter! Who doesn't like silk?
xoxo,
M.
P.S. I promise, promise, promise, promise that I will get better at the blog post titles!!! Unfortunately I'm quite out of practice. :( Oh well! Guess I'll just have to post more! :) Yay!

Harry Potter Movie Rants

Honestly I hate the Harry Potter Movies. In comparison to the books they are awful. They cut out all the good parts (a.k.a everything they cut out) and while the actors are good and all and the movie IS pretty magical, look at all the missing parts! You do not cut Fleur Delacour out! Seriously! And while Hermione's Yule Ball dress in the 4th HP movie is very pretty just like Fleur's wedding dress in the 7th movie part 1, they aren't accurate to the book! For example Fleur's wedding dress was supposed to be a plain and simple white dress. Also they had already celebrated Harry's birthday in the book before the wedding. Oh and in the movies they barely ever mention Tonk's Dad, Ted Tonks! Anyway that's it for my Harry Potter rant for now. Thanks for sitting through that. Should I do a part 2?

Meira.
P.S. I hope you like the Potterhead Problems spam I'm posting below from tumblr.

Bacon Song

I love this song, it just keeps running through my head. The best part is that I LOVE Bacon, I mean one time I ate almost half a pound of bacon for dinner (and no I am now not fat). Anyway I highly suggest listening to this song, it is hilarious!!!!

Groupon

Wow I cannot believe that I forgot to post this. Whoops!

Well after looking at all these Amazon Local emails that keep piling up in my old email's inbox, I finally decided to look at them. If I was looking for moving services, I'd have to say that's a pretty good deal. Just stating the obvious here. Well I guess that's the point. So I decided to go on Groupon. When I went on Groupon, guess what I found? More good deals. If I wanted to cough up $15 for entry to some saunas. I know that some teens (not me, I'm going to camp), will be pretty bored in NYC this summer. So here's some deals I found that you can use to have fun with your friends (or even make new ones(?)) this summer in NYC.

Cooking! Yum. While the class is $75, the picture of that pasta looks really, really good. For this one, the chef will come to your house and help you bake something with one other person, and she will bring all the necessary materials. I've got to say that if you want to buy this, tell me how to cook that pasta!

and if I buy this, I'm going to get the recipe for this pasta.

Cupcakes. Who doesn't like cupcakes? Well have you ever been to Butter Lane Cupcakes? I found it one day when I was downtown in Greenwich Village by my favorite thrift store, AU2HO. Great place, you should check it out sometime. Anyway, I was hungry so I was going to go to Big Gay Ice Cream Shop next door, but I had to check out Butter Lane Cupcakes first because it smelled so good. With numerous frosting flavors that you can, yes, sample! Butter Lane Cupcakes was AMAZING!!! So instead of ice cream I had a cupcake. Imagine my surprise when the I found out that the cupcake shop was offering CLASSES!!! However, I'm not sure how great a deal paying $29 (original price $60), is. Even if you don't end up taking a class, just go down to Butter Lane Cupcakes, and get a cupcake. It will be worth it.

Anime...

Over Winter Break this past school year my older cousin introduced me to Death Note, which is an anime. Ever since anime has joined my list of obsessions including but not limited to Burn Notice, Cop Shows, Pretty Little Liars, and The Lying Game. So right now I'm watching this anime called One Piece, but the thing is currently there are 599, 20 minute episodes, which has to mean that some plot lines might repeat so I'm not sure how long I'll watch it for...... However so far its pretty good! I'd recommend it.

Stand My Ground

So I love this band, Within Temptation, and one of the first songs I ever heard by them is Stand My Ground. Today I was watching some anime and I felt like finding a good karaoke for Stand My Ground. So here's the video:

And if you don't know Within Temptation already, Check Them OUT! There's a Within Temptation song for EVERYONE! You just have to find it. My current favorite is Memories (though my favorite changes something like everyone 2 months).

This is where I want to go......

So, a few years ago I was surfing the web because of a school project. And this came up:
http://www.time.com/time/travel/article/0,31542,2043337,00.html

Now as soon as I finished reading the article (which I highly suggest you do), I went nuts. FREE UNLIMITED SPA TREATMENTS!!! Best day ever!

However, upon closer inspection of the hotel, and tracking down the website 2 years later, here are my findings of the hotel:

  • To take a vacation all the way in March, for a 7 day vacation the cheapest room for a family of 4 will cost $5,355. And that's the room alone.
Now that, uh, "minor" difficulty could be forgiven, right? I mean, for a private pool in your room with a jacuzzi and unlimited free spa treatments that's a good deal. Right? Well....... Just take a look at how much airfare costs for a family of 4!

  • $10448 on American Airlines for a family of 4
Now this is A LOT of $$$. So I think before I got to The Maia Fusion Resort in Da Nang, Vietnam, I'm going to rack up the Frequent Flyer Miles first. However, after looking at this I'm wiping away silent tears because, hey, I'm just a teenager and my dreams of a vacation of free massages and facials with beaches and pools just got crushed. I think that instead I better go try to convince my parents to take me to Hawaii.

Honolulu, Oahu, Hawaii:
Airfare: On Hawaiian Airlines, $310 per person
Hotel: I don't even want to know

-Meira.

Shorts

Currently one article of clothing is currently pissing me off. Shorts. Specifically booty shorts. In my opinion it not appropriate to wear shorts with s 1 1/2 inch seam. Do you WANT people to see you butt ladies? So please corporations, hear my prayers and give the world more shorts with 4 inch seams, so I can actually wear them to school next year when it's hot out, Oh Glorious God of Corporations of Fashion.
-Meira.
P.S. Posting at 1:44 in the afternoon is not weird for me at all. I finished school yesterday :)
